Working at Madern

The mission of Madern is to be an innovation partner in sustainable Rotary Converting solutions. Our core values underline this mission and present our way of working with all parties involved. We cannot succeed without the knowledge and talent of our employees. That is why we create a pleasant and healthy working environment and choose to work with motivated and capable employees.

This is an interaction between the management and the whole Madern team. In this blog we highlight three employee stories: Anastasiya Virazub (planner), Jaco Leeuwenburgh (project engineer) and Gianluca Schaar (mechanic apprentice).

"The biggest challenge in my work is the degree of precision; I learn new things on a daily basis and experience a lot of freedom in my work."

In their own words

As a full time planner, Anastasiya facilitates the timely planning of deliveries for customers: “I started working for Madern in September 2021, after I travelled from Belarus to The Netherlands. I have studied the language and had the appropriate work experience. For my job, I monitor the orders, using the documented data on orders to analyse supply and demand and make production schedules. We use a specialised program which contains all information about the projects and have contact with multiple disciplines in the company to prepare a successful project. I appreciate the working environment and the helpfulness of colleagues. We help each other with questions, feedback and overall support regarding client projects. Also we get a lot of opportunities to grow and develop ourselves, such as follow courses or studies and you can easily talk to your manager about your ambitions.”

Something Jaco experienced first-hand: “I started out as a production worker and two years later, after successfully completing my mechanical engineering evening study, I was able to grow into a new role as project engineer. A great transition in my five years at Madern. Today, I design for our production department. I spend my days behind the computer, developing customised solutions for our customers. In the factory I can see the result and discuss with the mechanics if there is any unclearness. We have started with a new Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system, which I helped arrange and shape to our needs. I like to have challenges in my job, because it helps me come up with the best possible solutions. My working times are flexible, which I really like; in this way I can maintain a good work-life balance.”

Gianluca started in the beginning of 2022 as a mechanic apprentice at Madern: “One of my friends already worked here, and showed me the job vacancy. My primary task is to disassemble tool sets that need to be reconditioned (re-sharpened). I like working with my hands and I felt this was the right opportunity for me. The biggest challenge in my work is the degree of precision; I learn new things on a daily basis and experience a lot of freedom in my work. We receive training where needed. For example; I gained a forklift truck certificate within 4 months and I will soon follow another training course.”
